David considers it his mission to improve the way insurers and governments operate, with a specific focus on the deployment of AI to streamline processes and improve customer experiences.
He is an expert in Travel Claims processing, having led the solution design and implementations for leading travel insurers including the Hollard Insurance Company, Auto and General, Fastcover, and Trawick International.
His entrepreneurial and innovative approach to business is strengthened by a deep understanding of technology, process automation and people management.
David was a senior strategy and operations consultant with Deloitte, with specialist knowledge in B2B technologies like Ariba, WebMethods, SAP Connect and CommerceOne. He led some of Australia’s first full web based B2B integration and process automation projects. Clients included the likes of Woolworths, Origin Energy, AGL, Brambles, and Staples.
"I always loved quantum leaps in automation. I remember when we went live with Ariba at Origin Energy in 2001. We replaced a semi manual process. Procure-to-payment went from 2 weeks to instant. It was very exciting and gave us all a great sense of accomplishment."
Anton loves using the latest technology, and in particular Machine Learning, to deliver outstanding innovative solutions for his clients.
And he’s been doing it for a while now.
Anton first used Machine Learning when he wrote groundbreaking algorthims for a leading online gaming company in the early 2000’s. The algorthims injected real time player analytics into an online gaming session, based on a combination of predetermined rules and past and current player behavior.
Since then Anton has a continued interest Machine Learning, , writing several academic papers.
Since founding Lodestone with David in 2006, Anton has focused on the insurance sector.
He has delivered core solutions for NSW Self Insurance Corporation (SICorp). These have included architecture and implementation of the data warehouse, including advanced interfaces to 3rd party insurers (GIO, Allianz, EML, Suncorp), scheme actuaries, WorkCover NSW and other stakeholders.
In addition, Anton oversaw the development of several ancillary insurance systems such as a specialist rater, a credit assessment system, a tendering system, and complex interfaces to other parties such as NSW Office of Fair Trading.
Anton is Lodestone technical lead for Machine Learning (ML), and manages teams that are operationalizing ML in insurance and finance – client onboarding, business credit assessment, claims validations, and automated claims assessment processing.
Anton holds a PhD in bioinformatics, and a HDIPCS in Computer Science. Anton also lectured at Wits University and pursued research work at the university’s Department of Computer Science.
